Custom Hawaiian Shirts With Your Faces, Logos and Prints

Custom Hawaiian shirts put your own design on the loudest shirt in the room: the groom's face repeated across the back, your company logo stitched over the pocket or a back print in your brand colors. We embroider or DTF-print your design on ready-made tropical-print and camp shirts; all-over sublimation printing isn't something we offer. Order one or outfit the whole trip, or browse all branded shirts.

What Is an All-Over Print Shirt?

Custom all-over print shirts carry a design that runs across the front, back and sleeves rather than a single graphic in the middle. The method behind it is sublimation: your pattern is printed onto transfer paper with special dye, then heat and pressure turn the dye into a gas that bonds with polyester fibers. The color becomes part of the fabric, so there's no layer to crack, peel or feel.

That chemistry sets two rules. Sublimation only bonds with polyester, so all-over shirts use lightweight polyester fabric rather than the rayon or cotton of vintage aloha shirts. And sublimation dye is transparent, with no white ink, so the shirt starts white and your design supplies every color, including the background. Want a navy shirt with orange hibiscus? The navy is printed too. We don't offer all-over printing, so our Hawaiian shirts start with a ready-made tropical print or a solid camp shirt, then add your logo or design with embroidery or DTF. Learn more about how sublimation printing compares with other heat-applied methods.

Hawaiian Shirts With Faces for Trips and Parties

Face shirts are the reason most people land here. The formula is simple: cut out a face, repeat it across a tropical background (we print it as a DTF panel on the front or back) and watch the reactions. They're a fixture of bachelor parties, milestone birthdays, retirement send-offs and the friend group's annual beach trip.

To make a face pattern work:

  • Use a clear, front-facing photo. Good light, eyes open and a neutral or exaggerated expression; blurry or tilted faces turn into smudges at pattern size.
  • Send the original file. A phone photo straight from the camera roll is usually plenty; screenshots and social media downloads lose detail.
  • Mix faces with tropical elements. Faces scattered among palm leaves, flamingos or pineapples read as a pattern; faces alone can look like wallpaper.
  • Get permission. Only use photos of people who are in on the joke.

Company Luau? Branded Aloha Shirts That Fit the Theme

Aloha shirts are a fun, practical uniform for summer parties, tiki bars, beach-themed restaurants, boat tours and trade-show booths where a polo would blend in. Branded versions come in two styles. The subtle approach stitches a small logo on a tropical-print shirt, so the shirt looks like resort wear until someone looks closely. The loud approach fills the back with a print built from your logo, mascot or product.

Start with your brand palette. A tropical print close to your two or three brand colors, such as teal leaves on a sand background, feels on-brand without a logo shouting from every inch. For a logo, an SVG or PDF file keeps edges crisp at any size; a high-resolution PNG also works, and AI and EPS files can be sent with a bulk quote. Branded aloha shirts make good giveaways for sales teams too, because people actually wear them on vacation.

Designing a Repeating Pattern That Works

A great pattern is about scale and spacing. A few guidelines:

  • Size the motif for the body. Faces about 3 to 4 inches tall are recognizable across a room. Logos repeat well at 2 to 3 inches wide. Much larger, and the pattern breaks awkwardly at seams; much smaller, and it turns to texture.
  • Offset the rows. Staggering each row, like bricks, looks natural and hides the grid.
  • Rotate or mirror elements. Tilting every other face or flipping leaves keeps the eye moving.
  • Leave breathing room. Background space between motifs keeps busy prints readable.
  • Watch the contrast. Dark motifs on a light background, or light motifs on a dark printed background, read best from a distance.

These tips apply to all-over prints, which we don't offer, and to a repeating design printed with DTF on the front or back. Upload the photos and logo you want, and you'll preview it in our 3D Custom Designer, or get a free mockup on bulk orders of 100+ pieces.

Fabric, Fit and Button Details

A Hawaiian shirt is defined by a few details: a flat camp collar that lies open at the neck, a straight hem designed to be worn untucked, short sleeves and a button front, often with a chest pocket. All-over versions use lightweight woven polyester that breathes, dries quickly and resists wrinkles, which makes them easy to pack for a cruise or a week in Key West.

Camp shirts are cut with a relaxed, boxy fit. If you're between sizes, most people size down for a cleaner look, or stay true to size for the classic loose drape. Check the size chart on each product for chest width and body length before ordering for a group.

The camp collar is shared with retro league shirts, so if your crew wants two-tone panels and names over the pocket instead of a tropical print, look at our bowling league shirts.

Personalized Sets for Vacations and Bachelor Parties

Group orders are where these shirts shine, and a little planning makes them easy:

  • One pattern, one twist. Give everyone the same print, then make the guest of honor's shirt different: a different shirt color or the bride's face instead of the groom's.
  • Add personalized names. A name or nickname on the back or over the pocket makes each shirt a keepsake.
  • Collect sizes early. A simple form with each person's name and size avoids a wrong-size scramble before departure.
  • Coordinate the rest. Pair the shirts with matching custom hats for the pool or the golf course.

Care Tips for Sublimated Shirts

Sublimated prints are some of the most durable you can buy, because the color is part of the fiber. A little care keeps them looking new:

  • Wash in cool or warm water on a gentle cycle, inside out.
  • Skip bleach and fabric softener.
  • Tumble dry low or hang to dry; polyester dries quickly.
  • If you iron, use a low setting, since high heat can leave shiny marks on polyester.

Frequently Asked Questions

How are custom Hawaiian shirts printed?

All-over ones use sublimation. The pattern is printed with special dye onto transfer paper, then heat-pressed so the dye bonds into white polyester fabric. The result is full color edge to edge with no texture, cracking or peeling, which is why all-over shirts are made from polyester rather than cotton. We don't offer all-over printing; we embroider or DTF-print your design on ready-made tropical-print and camp shirts.

Can you put faces on a Hawaiian shirt?

Yes. Send clear, front-facing photos and we'll cut out the faces and repeat them in a DTF print on the front or back. Faces about 3 to 4 inches tall stay recognizable from a distance. You'll preview the design before anything is produced, live in our 3D Custom Designer or on a free digital mockup for 100+ pieces, so you can adjust size and spacing first.

Can I add my company logo into the pattern?

Yes. Your logo can be repeated as the main motif of a DTF back print, or stitched on a tropical-print shirt for a subtler look (we don't print custom all-over patterns). SVG or PDF files give the cleanest edges; a high-resolution PNG also works, and AI and EPS files can be sent with a bulk quote. Your preview shows exactly how the logo reads at print size.

What's the minimum order for custom Hawaiian shirts?

There's no minimum. You can order a single shirt as a personalized gift or a full set for a trip, and each person's size can be different. The price per shirt depends on the shirt style, quantity and design, and live prices are on each product page.

How long does a custom Hawaiian shirt order take?

It depends on the quantity, the design and whether the mockup needs changes. Tell us your in-hand date when you request a quote; if it's tight, rush orders are available, with the rush fee quoted with your order. Orlando-metro customers can pick up at our Orlando-area warehouse, and every order can ship anywhere in the US.
