Custom button up shirts look sharp at a front desk, a client meeting or a brewery taproom, and a stitched logo makes them yours. Choose oxfords and dress shirts for the office, denim and flannel for a relaxed crew, and add your logo, a name on the pocket or a monogram on the cuff. Order one shirt or outfit the whole team, design it in our 3D Custom Designer or request a bulk quote for 100+ pieces, and browse our other custom shirts for matching tees.

Oxford and Dress Shirts With Embroidered Logos

The fabric decides how a button-up looks and how the logo sits on it:

  • Oxford: a basketweave cotton with visible texture, slightly heavy and a little casual. It holds embroidery well and is the classic choice for real-estate teams, sales staff and branded office wear.
  • Pinpoint and poplin: finer, smoother weaves that read as true dress shirts. They're lighter, so logos stay small and moderately dense to avoid puckering.
  • Twill: a diagonal weave that drapes well and resists wrinkles, a good middle ground for long days.
  • Easy-care blends: cotton-polyester shirts that come out of the dryer nearly wrinkle-free, a favorite for restaurants and anyone who won't iron.
  • Performance wovens: lightweight polyester that wicks and dries fast for outdoor events and Florida summers.

Every logo is stitched with a stabilizer behind it so the woven fabric stays flat. Fine details, like hairline text under about a quarter inch tall, get simplified at the mockup stage so they stay readable in thread.

Denim Shirts With Stitched Logos

Denim and lighter chambray shirts are the uniform of barbershops, breweries, coffee bars and creative studios. The sturdy cotton twill carries dense embroidery without puckering, and the weave gives the logo a rugged, crafted look. White, cream and gold thread pop on indigo; tone-on-tone blue thread looks understated and expensive. A bold logo above the pocket and the business name across the back yoke make a denim shirt work as both uniform and merch.

Flannel Shirts, Stitched to Order

Flannel is brushed cotton with a soft nap, which brings two challenges: the nap can swallow fine stitches, and a busy plaid can swallow a busy logo. The fixes are simple. Keep the design bold, with solid shapes and thick lettering, and choose a thread color that contrasts with every color in the plaid, not just the background. For a rugged look, a leather or PVC patch sewn on the chest reads clearly on any plaid. Flannel is a natural pick for fall events, outdoor brands and holiday staff gifts.

Branded Button-Ups for Restaurants and Offices

Front-of-house teams need shirts that survive a dinner rush and still look right at close. Darker colors hide spills, easy-care blends skip the iron, and short sleeves keep servers and bartenders cool. Offices tend toward white, light blue and gray oxfords with a small left-chest logo.

Stitched logos are the standard here because they look professional at handshake distance and hold up to commercial washing. Our branded business shirts cover every embroidered shirt style in one place, and field teams who need pockets and heavier fabric should see our logo work shirts for crews. For larger programs, standardize one or two shirt styles and one approved logo file so new hires always match.

Logo Placement on Collared Shirts

Placement is where a button-up looks either sharp or homemade:

  • Left chest: the standard spot, about 3 to 3.5 inches wide, roughly 7 to 9 inches below the shoulder seam and centered between the placket and the side seam.
  • Above the pocket: we stitch just above a chest pocket rather than on it, because embroidering a pocket on a finished shirt sews it shut.
  • Right chest: an employee name or title, about 3 inches wide, opposite the logo.
  • Sleeve: a small logo or flag on the upper left sleeve.
  • Back yoke: the company name or a larger logo just below the collar, useful for event staff.

The same placement rules apply to team and staff polos, so a mixed order of polos and button-ups looks like one uniform. Preview it in our 3D Custom Designer, or get a free mockup with a bulk quote for 100+ pieces.

Cuff Monograms and Pocket Names for a Personalized Finish

Initials on the cuff are the quiet, classic touch, usually on the left cuff in letters about a quarter to half an inch tall. Personalized names on the pocket or right chest help customers find the right person, and they make a thoughtful gift for groomsmen, graduates or a retiring colleague. Names change shirt by shirt; your logo stays the same. We monogram the shirts in our collection rather than garments you send in. For more lettering styles, see our monogram embroidery page.

Sizing, Fits and Care

Button-ups come in a few fits: classic (full through the body), regular, and slim or tailored with a narrower waist. Women's styles add darts and a shaped side seam. We carry button-ups from XS through 5XL and beyond, plus tall sizes; check each product's size chart for exact measurements. For boxy, untucked camp-collar shirts, see our bowling league shirts.

To keep embroidery looking new, wash cold, hang to dry or tumble on low, and iron from the back of the fabric, or press with a towel over the logo. Never iron directly on the stitching.

Fees, Rush Orders and Pickup

Embroidery has a one-time $35 digitizing fee per design, and you can download the digitized file from your account. Printed designs, such as a back graphic for event shirts, have no setup fee with DTF; screen printing, for orders of 100+ pieces, has a setup fee quoted with the order. Both setup fees are one-time per design, so reorders skip them. Per-shirt price depends on the shirt, the stitch count and the number of locations; live prices are on each product page. Rush orders are available, with the rush fee quoted with your order. Orlando-metro customers can pick up at our Orlando-area warehouse, and every order can ship anywhere in the US. Our branded embroidery services page covers stitching on hats, jackets and more.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you embroider a logo on custom button up shirts?

Yes. Embroidery is our standard finish for button-ups, usually a left-chest logo about 3 to 3.5 inches wide. Send an SVG or PDF file if you have one; high-resolution PNG or JPG is accepted too, and AI and EPS files can be sent with a bulk quote. We'll digitize the logo for a one-time $35 fee. Embroidery orders get a proof to approve before production; nothing is stitched until you approve it, and orders of 100+ pieces also get a free mockup.

What's the difference between button-up and button-down shirts?

"Button-up" means any shirt that buttons all the way up the front. A "button-down" is a button-up whose collar points button to the shirt body, a casual detail common on oxfords. Both embroider the same way, so choose the collar you like; a button-down collar stays neat without collar stays.

Do you make tailored or made-to-measure dress shirts?

No. We decorate ready-made shirts in a full size range, including slim, classic, women's and tall fits in many styles. Compare your best-fitting shirt with the size chart on the product page to find the right fit. Once you've chosen a size, we'll add your logo, name or monogram.

Can you embroider flannel shirts?

Yes. Flannel takes embroidery well when the design is bold and simple, because the brushed nap can hide fine detail. Choose a thread color that contrasts with the whole plaid, not only the background. A leather or PVC patch is another good option for a rugged, easy-to-read logo on busy patterns.

Is there a minimum for logo dress shirts?

No. You can order a single embroidered dress shirt or a hundred. The one-time $35 digitizing fee spreads across the order, so it adds less per shirt as quantity grows, and reorders of the same design skip it. Our guide to how much custom t shirts cost explains the same price drivers in more detail.
